How to Treat HyperhidrosisRadioFrequency (RF) laser or Botox® treatments are often used to stop excessive sweating by effectively removing or hampering sweat glands. In the case of RF, the treatment involves sending energy into the skin, which then damages sweat glands in order to prevent them from excreting sweat. In the case of Botox® treatments, the result is the interruption of signals via nerves to the sweat glands. This causes the glands to stop or at least reduce the production of sweat.
Symptoms of HyperhidrosisPatients can tell if they have hyperhidrosis when they produce so much sweat that it starts disrupting their daily routine. This can occur at any period where the patient notices that they are producing more sweat than normal. They will also begin to sweat in their sleep for no discernable reason.
