Service Policies and Insurance Information

All patients under the age of 18 require accompaniment by a parent or guardian before services can be rendered. If you are pregnant or believe you may be, please inform us when you schedule your appointment and again when you arrive at our office. Total Health & Skin Center accepts cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Care Credit.

All prices, policies, and services are subject to change. In order to provide a relaxing experience for you and others, we ask that you mute cell phones upon arrival at our office.

Appointments

On the day of your appointment, we ask that you arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out required paperwork. Every effort will be made to accommodate you, should you arrive after your scheduled appointment time; however, previously scheduled appointments will take precedence.

Cancellations

We ask that our clients notify us of cancellation 24 hours prior to their scheduled service. This cancellation notice is necessary in order to allow opportunities to reschedule that opening. If you call to cancel or reschedule an appointment and provide less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be assessed a $25 fee.

Prescription Refills

Please call our office at (919) 557-6400 during regular office hours for refills; you will be asked to leave a message with Nurse Triage. Calls will be returned by the end of the next business day.

Financial Policy

We accept cash, MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, and Care Credit. We will accept personal checks for payment on statements sent in the mail. A $35 fee will be charged for each returned check. This fee must be received within 5 days of notification of the returned check. Past due accounts will be swiftly submitted to the Wake County District Attorney’s Check Restitution Program for collection and legal action.

You will be responsible for your co-pay at the time of services. Any questions regarding insurance should be directed to our insurance coordinator. We currently participate with the following managed care companies:

If your insurance company is not listed above, please call our office at (919) 557-6400 to confirm that we participate. The handbook that was provided by your insurance company will include detailed information about what is covered (or not covered) by your policy.

Most policies require patients to pay a portion of their health care costs as an “out-of-pocket” expense. We are obligated, by contract, to collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles. In most cases, we will request that you pay your out-of-pocket expenses on the day that services are performed.

If you have a financial hardship, please let us know. Prior to your service, we will need, in writing, a letter stating the facts of your hardship. After reviewing your information, our Business Manager will meet with you to discuss a payment plan to cover the cost of your services.

Financial Policy For Cosmetic Surgery

Please be aware that cosmetic services are not considered “medically necessary” and will not be filed with your insurance company. Insurance will not pay for cosmetic procedures. Payment for services is required at the time of your visit.
